A Short Induction Programme at Congress Bhavan at Kamalanagar, Mizoram

Kamalanagar, Mizoram 14 Oct 2021: A short induction programme was organised at Congress Bhavan at Kamalanagar today. Dangu Ramani Chakma, President, Chakma District Congress Committee addressed the Congress party workers. The programme was held today to welcome new energetic educated youths into the Congress Party. Among them, Mr Rupam Chakma, former President, MCSU, Aizawl Zone from Rajmondal based in Kamalanagar-II and Mr Sonkar Chakma and Mr Raj Kiron Chakma have joined the party in the presence of all important party workers.

Mr Rupam Chakma while addressing the party workers said, "I am officially joining in the Congress Party with a particular aim to fulfil my grandfather's dream and I believe that I can only fulfil this dream by working with the Congress." He alleged that the present CADC MNF Government is vehemently practicing nepotism and favouritism on job appointments and totally failed on their promise to provide good governance and development for the people of CADC.

Mr Ramani Chakma, President, CDCC while welcoming the newly joined educated youths expressed his happiness and said that it is a good sign for the CADC Congress as day by day highly educated youths are joining into the Congress party.

More and more educated and energetic youths are joining the Indian National Congress and have entrusted the party for the safeguard and protection of the rights of the minority communities in the country. Since ages it is only the Congress party that has always stood firmly for the empowerment of minority communities like our Chakma community by establishment of Chakma Autonomous District Council in Mizoram. It had also ensured the safety, protection and rights of our Chakma people in Arunachal Pradesh (erstwhile NEFA), Assam and Tripura. Due to the rise of the anti-secular and majoritarian, fascist forces in the country, the rights and protection of minorities is under threat. The educated and aware youths are joining the national party to strengthen the forces of democracy to ensure the protection of the democratic rights of the minorities and all citizens of the country, as per the provisions that are enshrined in the Constitution.

The instability of the Government in Chakma Autonomous District Council due to infighting and power struggle within the ruling party had impacted the progress and development of the CADC. The abuse of power by the ruling party and the misconduct of its top leadership shows lack of discipline, principle and morality. The top leadership of the ruling party had totally let down the youths and citizens of the region due to the recent political crisis in the ruling party.

The youths are gradually inclining towards the Indian National Congress party with the hope that only Congress party can provide a stable administration in CADC, State and Central Government. Under the experienced and capable leadership of Dangu Ramani Chakma, Former-CEM & President of Chakma District Congress Committee, the popularity of Congress party is increasing at a rapid rate in the Chakma Autonomous District Council.
