Pu CS Thanga, General Secretary, MPCC visits Kamalanagar

Kamalanagar, 10 June 2022: Pu CS Thanga, General Secretary, MPCC (Incharge of CDCC), Dangu Nihar Kanti Chakma, MLA and Pu VF Lalzarliana, Secretary, MPCC visited Kamalanagar, on a 2 days visit to Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC).

The high level delegation team from Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) arrived at Kamalanagar, the headquarter of CADC on 9 June 2022 and a reception cum welcome ceremony was organised at Congress Bhavan. Dangu Ramani Chakma, President of Chakma District Congress Committee (CDCC) warmly welcomed chief guest Pu CS Thanga and the MPCC delegates and Dangubi Rajo Laxmi Chakma, President of Chakma District Mahila Congress felicitated them with flower garlands.

Pu CS Thanga is in charge of Chakma District Congress Committee and it is his maiden visit to Chakma Autonomous District Council. All the party workers and supporters of the Congress party were energised by the visit of the young and dynamic leader. The Congress party in Chakma District Council is gaining enormous popularity among the educated Chakma tribal youths and more and more youths are joining the party.

A meeting of the office bearers of the Chakma District Congress Committee was organised at Congress Bhavan on second day of the 2 days visit. Addressing the Congress workers, Pu CS Thanga said, "Youths are the future of the society and we should give importance to the youths. The senior leaders should make some adjustments with the present changing times and new trends in politics. At the same time the youths should also respect and learn from the experienced and senior leaders in the party".

Taking a dig at BJP, the ruling government at the centre, Pu CS Thanga said, "It is outdated to make false promises to the people and retain political power. They only make false promises but cannot fulfil the promises. They do not have the intention to serve the people, but their objective is only to gain political power".

"Congress has played crucial role for the development of Mizoram and CADC and our party is committed to touch new heights of success and development," said Pu CS Thanga. The young and dynamic leader, appealed to the young congress workers not to work for oneself, but to work hard for the society selflessly. "Congress is the right platform for the youths who want to bring change in the society and I will give full support to achieve it", he asserted.

The high level delegation team from MPCC assured that they will provide full support for the organisational activities of the Chakma District Congress Committee. Important issues regarding the upcoming General MDC election 2023 of Chakma Autonomous District Council were discussed in the meeting. It was suggested that a CADC Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee should be constituted under the chairmanship of Pu CS Thanga and seminars should be organised throughout the Golden Jubilee year to highlight the the contribution of the Congress party in the formation of the Chakma Autonomous District Council under the leadership of Prime Minister Late Smt Indira Gandhi in 1972.
