Kamalanagar: The Chakma District Congress Committee (CDCC) today held a press conference at Congress Bhavan, Kamalanagar, the headquarters of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC), to highlight the growing crisis of paper leaks and failures in India’s competitive examination system.

The CDCC expressed solidarity with the nationwide #ChhatronKiGoonj (The Students’ Echo) campaign launched by the Indian National Congress under the leadership of Leader of Opposition Shri Rahul Gandhiji, highlighting the struggles of students facing uncertainty due to examination irregularities. The CDCC also stands shoulder to shoulder with our national leadership because this is not an isolated political issue; it is a direct assault on the future of our millions of children.

Addressing the media, Shri Ramani Chakma, President CDCC stated that repeated paper leaks, cancellation of examinations, and lack of transparency have seriously affected the future of millions of students across the country. He noted that nearly 89 examination paper leaks and 48 re-examinations have occurred over the past decade under the leadership of incompetent BJP Govt., affecting the careers and mental well-being of over 6.5 crore students. He also referred to the recent UGC-NET cancellation just days ago, where over 9 lakh professors and PhD aspirants sat for their papers, and their entire exam abruptly cancelled just within 24 hours because the question paper was actively leaking on the Darknet and Telegram channels for ₹5 to ₹6 lakhs, and also the controversies surrounding the NEET-UG examination where more than 20 students has already committed suicide. He further stated that Indian families spend around ₹1.32 lakh crore annually on coaching, examination fees, travel, and accommodation, etc., but are forced to suffer because of administrative failures and criminal activities related to paper leaks.
“The dreams of our young people cannot be destroyed because of failures in the system. Students who work hard and prepare sincerely deserve a fair and transparent opportunity,” Mr. Chakma said. Therefore, the CDCC placed the following demands before the Government of India.
1. Immediate resignation of the Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan taking moral responsibility for the repeated failures in the examination system of India and for the destruction of student trust.
2. We demand immediate enactment of strong anti-paper leak legislation with strict punishment and fasttrack action against those involved, including officials, criminal networks, and other agencies involved in leaks.
3. We demand complete reform and independent audit of examination bodies like the National Testing Agency (NTA) to ensure transparency, accountability, and security.
4. We demand special financial assistance and relief measures for poor, tribal, and remote-area students who are forced to appear for repeated examinations due to system failures.

The CDCC is committed that it will continue to raise the concerns of students, parents, and youth until a fair, transparent, and accountable examination system is established.
