Chakma District Congress Committee Welcomes and Congratulates the formation of new Legislature Party in CADC

Kamalanagar, 26 June 2026: The Chakma District Congress Committee (CDCC) officially welcomes and congratulates the formation of the new Chakma Democratic Alliance Legislature Party (CDALP) on June 23, 2026, a joint coalition of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) under the leadership of Shri Nirupam Chakma holding a majority of 19 out of 20 Members of District Council (MDCs) to claim government in the 11th Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC).

The CDCC sincerely hopes that the new government led by Dangu Nirupam Chakma will provide a stable, responsible, and effective administration for the people of CADC. We hope this government will be unique in its governance and avoid the political instability and shortcomings witnessed under the previous administration.

The CDCC also expresses its hope that one of the first priorities of the new government will be to address the long-pending grievances of the employees of the Chakma Autonomous District Council. We hope under the new Executive Committee the four months' pending salaries of the employees will be solved upon assuming office and ensure that their welfare receives the attention it deserves.

Furthermore, the CDCC believes that the new government has a significant opportunity to usher in a new era of development, good governance, transparency, and prosperity for the Chakma Autonomous District Council. We expect the government to work tirelessly for the welfare of all sections of society and to fulfil the aspirations of the people.

The Chakma District Congress Committee assures the people that it will continue to play the role of a constructive democratic opposition, supporting every initiative that serves the public interest while holding the government accountable wherever necessary.
