All India Congress Committee Member & MLA Shri Nihar Kanti Chakma graces programme organised by Chakma District Congress

Kamalanagar, 5 Jan 2021: The Chakma District Congress Committee organised a programme today at Congress Bhavan in Kamalanagar, headquarter of Chakma Autonomous District Council. The programme was graced by Hon'ble All India Congress Committee Member & MLA Mr. Nihar Kanti Chakma, as the Chief Guest. It was observed as the first working day of the New Year 2021 by the members of the Chakma District Congress Committee, as its office re-opened today after the Christmas and New Year vacation. Mr. Vanremsanga, Secretary, Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), and Mr. C. Zorammawia, General Secretary, National Students Union of India (NSUI, Mizoram), also graced the meeting as the Guests of Honour. 

Mr. Ramani Chakma, President, Chakma District Congress Committee (CDCC) warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour, and addressed all the party workers present in the meeting. He shared his best wishes for New Year 2021, and he highlighted in detail regarding the prevailing situation and issues of Chakma District Congress. He requested the MPCC delegates to discuss the matter regarding these issues with the high command in the MPCC headquarters at Aizawl.

Chief Guest of the programme, Hon'ble All India Congress Committee Member & MLA, Mr. Nihar Kanti Chakma, expressed his happiness to be a part on the opening day programme of the CDCC office. He said, "Indian National Congress is the most respected and oldest of all political parties in India and its loss in the previous election in Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) is due to the frequent changes of the CEMs (Chief Executive Member) and it was the main reason for downfall of the Congress party in CADC. It is a lesson for the Congress party workers to be united and work hard with full faith and strong determination". He boosted the spirit and confidence of the party workers and reassured to form the government in the 2023 general election if the workers can work hard for the next two years.

Mr. Vanremsanga, Secretary, MPCC shared his best wishes for the New Year and addressed the party members present in the meeting. "I am happy to see such young and educated youths joining into the Congress party, and it reflects the bright future of the party" said Mr. Vanremsanga. He also requested the party workers to be more active and work hard and assured that the party will form the government in 2023. Further, he also expressed his gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the CDCC for the hospitality and love shown on his visit.

Ms. Anjana Chakma, Vice President, Chakma District Mahila Congress (CDMC), Mr. Lokesh Chakma, President of Chakma District Youth Congress Committee (CDYCC) and Mr. Adikanata Tongchangya, Senior Adviser, Chakma District Congress Committee (CDCC) also addressed the party members in the meeting. The meeting was concluded with votes of thanks by Mr. Rajesh Chakma, General Secretary, CDCC.
